A brilliant Holiday Club , based on Joseph (the one with the coloured coat!) was held at St George’s Church Wilton, and attracted nearly sixty children.
There were crafts – Egyptian hats, collars and bracelets and arm bands, pyramids large and small, a colour workshop, tie and dye, weaving, drama, camel masks, writing in hieroglyphics, games and music making.
Throughout the day 36 members of the congregation were involved in helping. They are a fantastic team of supporters.
At a Service in the church on the following day, the children shared their arts and crafts and together with the helpers, and the choir at Wilton, they led the congregation in a “Joseph and his amazing technicolor dream coat sing -a -long (Well there’s been Sound of Music and Mama Mia sing – a -longs!)
Joseph’s life was a bit of a roller coaster ride – full of ups and downs – highs and lows – not too different from our lives sometimes. But the children reminded the congregation, and then shouted it as loudly as they could to reach the whole of Taunton, “The Lord your God is with you wherever you go”
The children decided to make the Rev Jenny Jeffery, who organised the day, a technicolor dog collar!
